Brother Knight Dan Lucia

April 22nd, 2010

It is with deep sorrow that we recognize the passing of Brother Knight, Dan Lucia. For countless years he has presided as our ‘Master Chef’ and was present at many functions where we prepared food. Whether it was pancakes at Grad Nite, Pasta for a supper, Soup and Bread during Lent or any other culinary operation, Dan was the go-to-guy on how to do it correctly and educated his fellow Knights during the process.

Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII. He belonged to the Seabees during his service in the Pacific.

Not only was he an active Knight, but he was a very active volunteer in many other community functions and he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church until the end where he also served as an usher.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Dan was a kind hearted soul who was pleasant to spend time with. Dan’s company and presence will be sorely missed.

Calling hours for Dan will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, April 24th in the chapel at Sacred Heart Church immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in the main church.

Brother Knights who would like to pay there respects as a group will gather at 9:30 am outside the chapel

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. We are a very active council of positive, down-to-earth Catholic men. Our council serves the greater Southbury, CT area. Though we are closely associated with Sacred Heart Parish, our members come from several parishes in the area. If you are a Catholic man interested in exploring the Knights of Columbus, please contact our Grand Knight, Thomas Kokinchak at tkoke@aol.com. We welcome you to join us at one of our Social Nights and, hopefully, join our council!

Fraternally,

Thomas Van Stone
