Music Ministry

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; as long as I live I will sing praises to my God.
May He be pleased with my song, for my gladness comes from Him.”
—Psalms 100:33-34

Because sacred music gives glory and praise to God, it has been an integral part of the life of the Church from the very beginning. The choirs of Sacred Heart embrace all those with the calling to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Voices young and old, meek and strong, come together as one to lead our community of faith in song during liturgical worship and meditation.

Our groups include a Youth Choir for children who have received First Communion through those who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, an Adult Choir welcoming confirmed adults, young and old, who enjoy leading the assembly in song every Sunday, and a Resurrection Choir whose purpose is to offer comfort and support through music to those grieving their deceased loved ones at the Rite of Christian Burial services.

The season for the Youth and Adult choirs is from September through May. The Youth Choir sings for the 11:00 AM liturgy and rehearses every Sunday following the 11:00 AM liturgy. The Adult Choir sings every Sunday for the 9:00 AM liturgy, for special celebrations such as Confirmation, Healing Mass, and for all Holy Days. They meet for weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. The Resurrection Choir sings as needed.

Sacred Heart’s Music Ministry is a very active part of our worshiping community and we look forward to welcoming your voice into our joyful noise!
