Fifth Grade Retreat 2002

Photos and Commentary by Christina Ruggiero

The Fifth Grade CCD classes of Long Meadow, Pomperaug, and Gainfield schools all took a bit of a trip a couple of weeks ago. They all got to go on a field trip to the church. It started with a simple snack in the church hall.

Next, each school was assigned a station that they would stay at for the next half hour. One station was in the church taught by Deacon Joe Lavoie. He told us how to genuflect to the Tabernacle respectively and how Jesus was in there all the time when the candle was burning.

Another station was up in the loft in the hall. A kind lady told us Bible stories while using small characters to act them out. One other station was with Mrs. Dignazio teaching us how to be kind to other people, and then playing a game of bingo with religious questions and answers on the board.

Then at the end, we went home with our parents.
