2004 Good Friday Faith Walk

On Good Friday, youth from the Sacred Heart Youth group, together with the youth groups from St. James Lutheran Church and several other local churches, gathered together for our annual Good Friday Faith Walk. The event was extremely well attended this year and was covered by several local television stations as well as the local newspapers. Hundreds followed the youth through the streets of Southbury from St. James to Sacred Heart Church as they reenacted the Stations of the Cross. Thanks to Jody Zukowski, Marge Griffin, Mary Korsu, and everyone else who helped to organize this wonderful event.

Neil (Jesus) and Jen (thief to the right), dressed and ready to go.
Buses were provided to transfer the youth and other participants from Sacred Heart Church to St. James at the start of the event.
The Knights of Columbus again helped this year to guide walkers along the way and to ensure safety.
At the start of the event, all the youth involved gathered outside of St. James Church.
Jody Zukowski sets the mood with a few words at the beginning of the event.
Station 1 - Jesus is condemned to death.
Station 4 - Jesus meets his mother.
Station 5 - Simon helps Jesus carry the cross.
Station 7 - Jesus falls the second time.
Station 8 - Jesus speaks to the weeping women.
Stations 10-14 were set on the front hill at Sacred Heart Church.
Three youth sang the songs Were You There and Jesus Remember Me as Jesus was laid in the tomb.
