Sacred Heart Church - Southbury, Connecticut, U.S.A.

In these times of shortage of priests, it is always a special event when a priest celebrates the anniversary of his ordination. In the case of Fr. William Thuer, it was the 60th anniversary of his ordination. What a blessing to have a man of such faith and dedication in our midst. These are some of the memories of the day. God Bless You, Fr. Thuer!
Part of the entrance procession is lining up for the start of the Mass celebrating 60 years of dedication to God and man.
Waiting pariently for Mass to start, and probably a little shy at all the attention, Fr. Thuer prepares to celebrate Mass with his friends. How many times has this same scene unfolded over the years?
And so the procession starts toward the altar. Forth Degree Knights of Columbus lead the way for our pastor, Fr. Donnelly, other concelebrants, and of course, Fr. Thuer.
After Mass, many people waited to meet with Fr. Thuer to express their thanks for his dedication.
...many people
...many, many people...
...people in the atrium...
...and the hall.
No celebration is complete without some food. And we were well provided with light refreshments and punch to add to the festivities.
