On Sunday, February 3, 2008, the New Beginning Committee sponsored a Welcoming Breakfast for new members of the parish. It was a wonderful day, with over 80 new parishioners attending. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other new folk, older members, and parish staff in an informal setting. Lots of good food cooked up by the Knights of Columbus, and served by many volunteers from our youth group.

As the poster says, "Bringing Family, Friends, and Faith Together". An opportunity to meet lots of new folk, and introduce yourself to members of the parish staff, if you haven't already.
And working in the background, getting an early start on the days cooking chores, members of the Knights of Columbus start to prepare the food.
Looks nice, doesn't it. Very inviting. And lots of work went into making it look just that way.
And here's some of the people who did that work to bring this all together. Members of our youth group, always willing to help. This is the early contingent. More arrived later to help with the serving and clean-up.
Here's the group, or at least most of it that conceived the idea of the breakfast, and then worked so hard to make sure it happened just as they imagined it.
Let's see. One cook, two supervisors. That seems about the right proportion.
A part of the happy crowd of new folk, enjoying the breakfast, and each others company.
Our Pastoral Associate, Sr. Pat was there to check on things, and introduce herself to many of those attending.
As was Fr. Joe, our wonderful pastor.
When we say new parishioners, we mean NEW. This is about as new as it gets. And Matt Z., and fiancée were there, looking forward to their wedding coming up here at Sacred Heart.
A good overview of the newly fed, and now very content group.
If you feed them, they will come. This applies to the young folk that worked so hard to make the day the success that it was.
You would think that with a dish washer, the days of hand washing dishes was over. Guess not. Watch you head, Mike.
Enjoying a little artistic work, there was a table set aside for the youngest set to use for coloring and such activities. Looks like everyone is having a good time.
