On Sunday, March 1, 2009 the New Beginning Committee sponsored a Welcoming Breakfast for new members of the parish. It was a wonderful day, with over 60 new parishioners attending. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other new folk, older members, and parish staff in an informal setting. Lots of good food cooked up by the Knights of Columbus, and served by many volunteers.

As the poster says, "Bringing Family, Friends, and Faith Together". An opportunity to meet lots of new folk, and introduce yourself to members of the parish staff, if you haven't already.
Looks pretty inviting. As it should. We do our best to make our new friends and neighbors feel welcome and at home.
Working in the kitchen, Jen and Debbie mix a little fun and work before the guests arrive.
Fruit salad, anyone? Looks nice and fresh, just the thing to start a good, hearty breakfast.
Hummmm. Sure hope someone knows how to get the stove lit.
As usual, the Knights of Columbus provided the manpower and know-how to make sure the food was all properly prepared, and on time. Jack, the Grand Knight, supervises Barry in the preparation of the pancake batter.
Can't you almost smell those pancakes cooking on the griddle? I get hungry just thinking about it.
I grant you that Sarah is not a member of the Knights of Columbus. But she certainly understands about helping out where needed. Lots of eggs to break open, and whip up for the scrambled eggs.
At the end of the 9:00 Mass, all new parishioners were invited to come and enjoy a welcoming breakfast, and to register if they haven't already.
Once everyone was settled in, Fr. Joe, our pastor, was able to make the rounds, welcoming everyone.
As did Sr. Pat, our Pastorial Associate.
Keep those flapjacks coming! We are so lucky to have the Knights of Columbus to help with these projects. We need only ask, and their assistance is readily given.
A part of the crowd enjoying their breakfast, and the companionship of their new fellow parishioners.
This is the kind of enthusiastic response we are always looking for. Welcome to Sacred Heart.

![]() Ah, the apples of our grandparents eyes. Natalie, Ava, and Cecelia were happy to be joining us this morning. Hope we'll be seeing more of them around church. |
