AGGRESSION AND RELIGION: CAUSE OR SOLUTION?

Among the many questions about religious faith being asked today is whether religion causes aggression, violence and war or whether it is a solution to those problems. On Wednesday, May 26th at 1 PM, the Heritage Village Initiative for Learning and Enrichment sponsored a discussion of this question by a panel of local religious leaders:
  • Father Joseph Donnelly (Catholic Christian)
  • Rabbi Eric Polokoff (Jewish)
  • Imam Gaxmed Aga (Islamic).
It took place here in Sacred Heart Church and it was open to the public. A question and answer period followed the presentations. A light reception followed in the Parish Hall. Attendees were asked to bring a non-perishable food item or monetary donation for the Southbury Food Bank.
Also present were reporters from Crossroads Magazine, a TV program sponsored by the Archdiocese of Hartford, to record the program for broadcast at a later date.
