On February 28, 2010, Southbury Faith In Action sponsored the annual Musical Gala. A first this year, the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Southbury Ward generously allowed the use of their beautiful sanctuary for the Gala. The donations from those in attendance will be used in support of this years HomeFront project. AmeriCares HomeFront is an organization that used local volunteers to restore an area home to a safe, warm and dry condition. Click here for more information on the AmeriCares HomeFront projects.

For the first time, we held the Gala at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The setting was beautiful, the acoustics could not be bettr, the organ and piano in perfect voice. What a wonderful introduction to this church. |
Inside we set up the usual greeting table, with some photos from previous years work projects. |
The brochure had all the important information. Inside, information on the program, which featured master Organist Robert Fertitta on the keyboard, both organ and piano. |

Another close up of the poster showing our past years work sites. |
And in the next room, while the program is underway, the Relief Society of the Church was busy setting up for the break. |
A few of the people involved in supplying a wonder array of home made goodies. |
As usual, a line quickly forms at the food table. It was just a wonderful treat to enjoy such good food and fellowship after a remarkable demonstration of musical ability. |
Plenty to go around. Please take more. In fact, take some home, if you would like. |
Getting to meet new people is the best part of this sort of get together. People from different backgrounds turn out to be not so different after all. |
Mr. Fertitta enjoyed the food as well as a chance to meet with those attending and talk about the program. |
Pretty young ladies are always a welcome addition to every event. |
Pastor Nessel from St. James Lutheran was there to support the program. |
