“But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.” Wisdom 3:1-3
Be a presence for our parishioners and their families at a time of grief. Attend the wake service and/or the Mass of Christian Burial. Whether you knew the deceased personally or not, this presence of the faith community is such a source of comfort for the family members. On the day of the Funeral parishioners can serve as greeters, welcoming people to our parish, offering our sympathies, directing them to the coat closet, to rest rooms, and to the church. All these are simple signs of our hospitality.
